So we want to know, are you signing up?  We're still a little on the fence about this race and want to hear from EE veterans about this race.

  1. This was my first ever 5K and I really enjoyed myself but had nothing to compare to at the time. Things I did not anticipate included how tight some of the trails were through the AK and the amount of congestion in addition to the varried terrain and how that plays out while running in the dark.

Overall, there were some small things I was not thrilled about (in 2012 the water stations had HOT water) and the last obstacle was army crawling through fine, powder-like dirt which isn't a huge deal unless you think about how sweaty you are from running a 5K in May in Florida, haha!

I really like the post race party. It is so neat to get on rides in AK in the dark. EE is a whole other ride, I love it!

I really enjoy puzzles, so I thought the scavenger hunt part was a lot of fun. While that is included in your overall time they do give you a breakdown of your 5K time and your total time if you are hoping to set some PRs.

Before we did this one we read a few other blogs that really broke down the race and what to expect. That might help, too :)

Love you blog! Thanks for being an inspiration!

    1. Jamie, Thanks so much for your detailed reply. It sounds like you had a fun time, despite a few unpleasant spots on the race course. Most people do not expect to PR at Disney races so the night race and congested areas would probably not be a problem. Good luck with your next race whatever it might be!
