Marathon Weekend Update: Goodie Bag

Yesterday, emails went out from runDisney with all sorts of great information to get everyone hyped for marathon weekend.  The email contained training tips, tickets for various events, information on the "cool down party", and the virtual goodie bag.  One of the goodies you'll receive is a coupon for a free commemorative poster.  Disney has started doing these for most races and they are certainly a fun addition to the other race paraphernalia that you receive as part of your registration or purchase at the expo.

This year's poster highlights the 20th anniversary and features the big 3 characters of the weekend - Mickey, Donald and Goofy.   I love Donald's pouty expression...hilarious!

My only disappointment is that there isn't a different Donald poster, since I'm not running the marathon.  I couldn't help but wonder if runDisney added a little humor with Donald's pouty face since he doesn't have a poster for his race!

If you're wondering how you might transport this guy home on a plane or what to do with it when you get home, we have a few ideas!  The poster is rolled and wrapped in a thick plastic bag that is in a tube shape.  We packed them in our suitcases at Wine and Dine and they survived just fine.

And once you get home, you may be struggling for a good use for a Disney characters poster.  If you have a casual game room or a kid's playroom, it would be adorable hung in either space.  Given that neither of us have such a space, Mom hung hers in her closet, framed with a simple black poster frame from Michael's.

Wine and Dine bib, medal and commemorative poster on display
She also hung her race bib and medal nearby for a full-on Wine and Dine display.  Pretty cute, huh?

Where are you planning to hang your poster? {Christine}
