VA is for Lovers 14k

I've been known to register at the last minute for races...the 2012 Princess Half, 2012 Wicked 10k and now the Virginia is for Lovers 14k.  On Monday night, I asked my running pal and fellow Virginian, Krissy, if she knew anything about this race.  A few text messages later and she was contemplating running it with me...and also being my pace car-bonus!  And a night later and we're both registered!

This is another J&A race and these races are known for being fabulous.  Last year, a local friend and I contemplated this race but the mileage was too much for me.  The race is an 8.6 mile course that winds around the area near the Virginia Beach Sportsplex.  The course includes an area with cheesy pick up lines, Lovers Lane and Candy Curve, which I can only assume will include sweet treats!  Entry fee includes a short-sleeved tech shirt, finisher's gift (from the Facebook page, it looks like a wine glass - neat!) and a medal.

Check out this lovely!  Source
And then there's the after party...an indoor party with live music, food from a local restaurant and Yuengling beer.  Sounds pretty fabulous, huh?!  I am very excited and am looking forward to recapping another J&A race.

And now time to work on a race outfit...

  1. That sounds like fun! You should start with a Team Sparkle red skirt! I love running races with friends.

  6. I love the medal and I think getting a wine glass at a race would be cool! You can never have too many wine glasses.
