Training Tuesday: At Home Lower Body

Every once in a while, I can't get to the gym for cross-training and am left to improvise.  Since it's been so chilly this winter, I've been trying to stay inside when I can.  Over the weekend, I ended up walking home from the mechanic because my car had a flat.  Luckily, it's not too far from my house - about a mile and a half.  It was an unexpected power walk, and luckily I was in my gym clothes.  Realizing that my window for gym time was closing (it took about 4 hours to finally get to my car), I started thinking about alternative workouts at home.  I decided to improvise a lower body cross-training workout at home.  Luckily my living room is large enough for me to move around, after I moved the cocktail ottoman.  After looking at several online workouts, I came up with a workout that I'm calling 'lower body blast'. I was tired by the end and my glutes can definitely feel it, so it seems successful!

If you're not familiar with these exercises, good them or check out youtube - there are tons of photos and videos demonstrating the correct form.


This would also be a great morning workout too if you can't (or don't have the motivation) to get to the gym before work.

  1. Thanks for posting this!! I have been trying to come up with something like this to do at home! I have a sick little girl at home today so this will be perfect!!
