Weekly Roundup: May 5th

Christine and I both had busy weeks of exercise.  After results came back from my MRI, I was able to get back to running and regular training.  It was wonderful hitting the pavement on a short run Wednesday afternoon.  Saturday I volunteered for a local 5k race for Cystic Fibrosis.  Directing runners along the course is always fun and especially when children are running.  I cheered, and encouraged many of the participants.  Hopefully they reached the goal of raising in excess of $100,000, last year's total!  And this week Christine's dog Paddy had a new PR.....she ran a mile in 8:38!

Sunday, April 28th
Pam: rest day
Christine: 60 min yardwork

Monday, April 29th
Pam: 45 minutes stationary bike, weights
Christine: 30 min elliptical, lower body weights, stretching

Tuesday, April 30th
Pam:  30 minutes stationary bike, 1 hour yoga class, 9 holes golf
Christine: 5 min stationary bike (resulting in aggravated IT band), 30 min elliptical, upper body weights, abs

Wednesday, May 1st
Pam: 40 minutes stationary bike, 3 mile run, stretching
Christine: Rest

Thursday, May 2nd
Pam: 25 minutes stationary bike, 1 hour yoga class
Christine: 3.8 mile run through neighborhood at 8:43 pace (fast for me!), stretching, foam rolling

Friday, May 3rd
Pam: Sculpt class 1 hour (weights)
Christine: 3 mile run with Girls on the Run, foam rolling

Saturday, May 4th
Pam: 6 mile run, stretching and rolling
Christine:  9 miles run

How was your week?  Did you have a successful week of training?


  1. Both of you have had a good week with glad to hear your back running!
    Christine...I have had IT band issues for over a long run weekend before this past started it all. Painful to say the least...I did elliptical a good deal this week and a long run...well...not as long as I wanted this Sat...6 1/2 miles....Im sore...but doing better with foam rolling....
    Do you do Galloway more so when your IT band is bugging you?
    Love the pony tail on your sweet puppy dog! :c)

  4. I've had a great week of training. I am following a 10K training program and just completed week 4 of 8. I am up to running 3.75 miles, never been able to do that before!

  5. It's great to return to activity after an injury. I had a slow week while fighting a bad cold, but I'm looking forward to getting back to normal this week!
