Brunch at Goofy's Kitchen!

A perfect way to celebrate the Disneyland 10k was brunch at Goofy's Kitchen.  We joined our travel agent, Jen and her group of nearly 30 runners for a wonderful buffet feast following our morning race.

As we entered the restaurant, we got excited to see loads of people we had "chatted" with on twitter and facebook but never met in person.  We sat down and relaxed with the group while we waited to be seated. With such a large group, it took a while for our tables to be ready.  In the meantime, Christine and I took advantage of the numerous characters available for photos!

Restaurateur Goofy!
Once seated, our group immediately hit the buffet lines and there were wonderful choices including a breakfast spread with eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, waffles, pancakes etc.  The lunch spread included fruit, salad bar, chicken, macaroni and cheese, rice pilaf and loads of other choices.  Finally there was a dessert section if you still had room after trying the other main course foods.  I made a complete pig of myself by taking not one but two plates of food.  Breakfast seemed like the perfect appetizer, so I took eggs, waffles and a couple slices of bacon with a glass of milk!  Next up was a plate of chicken, macaroni, rice and finally a plate of fruit.  This was the perfect way to carbo load for the half marathon Sunday, and Christine and I enjoyed the food and company.

Baloo loved our medals!

So fun to meet these other mother daughter running duos!

With brunch complete, we made a stop at the Dumbo photo spot at the expo on our way back to our room for a quick picture! Then it was time to relax on the chaise lounges by the pool for a little afternoon nap!

One more race to complete!

What did you do after the 10k?

  1. How fun! I love all the character photos!!! Is this something you had to make dining reservations for?

    1. Yes, you do need advance reservations. At Disneyland you make your dining reservations just 60 days prior to your trip.

  2. We went to Goofy's Kitchen after the half! Some of our group started with the soft serve machine and then worked backwards to breakfast (not naming any names!)

    1. I hope you got to ride Radiator Springs at CA! Christine's favorite character is piglet and she has the little clip on her purse for all the Disney trips!

  12. Looks and sounds like a great group! We were also supposed to attend but changed plans several weeks ago. Our park time was limited over the weekend, so we decided to go to the parks after the 10K. Glad y'all enjoyed the brunch!

    1. I understand about wanted park time! This was the only meetup that we attended over the weekend. It helped that it involved a meal and characters! Who knows when we will get back to DL and those Radiator Springs Racers and other rides were calling us!
