Disneyland/DCA Park Fun

We had a fantastic few days gallivanting around Disneyland and California Adventure while we were out west for the Dumbo Double Dare Challenge.  We got to hit up some amazing rides, enjoy some fantastic food and meet lots of our buddies!  So, without spending a lot of time on text on this post, I want to share some of our best photos and a quick list of our favorites.

I was obsessed with this bunny teacup

Minnie coming out for a darling retro Fly Girls show

The secret to avoiding a line on Radiator Springs is the single
rider line...this time we ended up in the same car!

Riding California Screamin' solo
Watching the sun go down over Cars Land
Eating on the Mendocino Terrace at Gold Vine Winery....
awesome apps and beautiful setting

* Radiator Springs - it totally lives up to the hype!
* Baby pink castle.  It's SO pretty!
* Amazing restaurants that don't require planning 6 months in advance
* Walking to the parks and between parks
* Seeing evening fireworks from the hotel
* World of Color...it also lives up to the hype.
* Trader Sams is a very fun watering hole
* Soarin' has no line in California
* Cars Land is amazing - so cool!

What is your favorite thing about Disneyland?

    1. Karen, Carolina Adventure is really fun, but if I had only one day at a park I would have chosen Disneyland as you did. I am certain you will be there for a race someday!

  2. Can't wait until I get to see everything in January!! So glad you ladies had a blast! Also very surprised Soarin' has no line in Cali since I can never seen to get a line shorter than 90 min in Florida lol

    1. Lauren, you will love your visit to the Disneyland parks. It is such a different experience from WDW.

    1. Agree Kat. No buses = tons of fun and less stress waiting for buses!

  4. No line at Soarin???? That alone is worth the trip! I hope I can get out there soon. Thanks for the photos.

    1. Yes, we basically walked on Soarin' 3 or 4 times. Maybe a 10 minute wait, but to us, that is no wait!

  5. Yeah! Thanks for including our pic! I totally agree with your list of favorites, I LOVE World of Color, honestly I could watch it every night! And being able to walk back and forth between the hotels and the two parks is just SOOOO much easier than taking busses everywhere

  6. I haven't been to DL since I was a little girl and only remember things through pictures my parents took. I can't wait to go back and remember "for real" next time! Looks like you had a blast. Do you think you will make a DL race an annual thing?

    1. Being on the east coast, we don't plan to return every year, but we love the convenience of no buses and hotels where you walk 15 minutes and are in the middle of a park. It is awesome!

  10. I went to Disneyland for the first time in July, and could go on for hours comparing it to Disney World. If I had to choose my absolute favorite part of DL (there's a lot to choose from), it would probably be It's A Small World. I just love that it starts outside and feels like a completely different experience than its WDW counterpart. Since we were at WDW in January, I can't wait to bookend our DL experience with a return marathon weekend trip this coming January!

  12. I wish I was back there right now! I also wish it was just a little bit closer so I could go more frequently (10-15 years between visits is not cool) :(

And World of Color is PHENOMENAL! :)

  13. I still can't figure out how I was not emotionally scarred by Mr Toad's wild ride as a kid. Did you notice how terrifying it really is especially when you go to hell at the end and the room is hot?!

    1. You are right, but we love that ride and we so sad when they took it out of WDW Fantasyland!
