Just a couple of runDisney Christmas trees please!

The Christmas season is my favorite time of year!  Decorating the Christmas tree, baking special cookies, wrapping gifts and watching Christmas movies are some of my favorite things.  Last year, I decided to do some crafting for the holidays with a Disney twist. I took all my race pins, attached them to ribbon and used those and some homemade Disney ornaments for a desk sized tree.  This year, due to many Disney races and many new pins, I actually had to purchase a bigger tree!  Here is the finished product and the new tree skirt I made for my desk.  Next year, I may have to eliminate some of the homemade ornaments! The Dopey Challenge and the Glass Slipper Challenge alone will provide 6 more race pins!

New tree is on the left....love having Vinylmation runner Mickey with all his medals too!

One of our readers has been participating in the runDisney races for a long time and shared with us her version of the perfect runDisney race tree.  We loved her tree and thought it might inspire you to use your race medals for a special tree in your own home. The white tree is perfect for showing off the medals and using the post race cape to make a tree skirt is a lovely finishing touch! Fabulous job Deb! Thanks so much for sharing your handiwork with our readers.

There are lots of miles logged for all those beautiful medals!

Do you use your race medals or pins when you decorate for the holidays?  If so please tell us about it!

  4. I don't have a runDisney tree, but I have a number of Disney ornaments. Ratatouille, the AristoCats, Merida and Mrs. Jumbo and Dumbo. I'm on the lookout for some Frozen ornaments too.

  6. That's a cute idea putting the disney pins on the small tree! I have seen a pic of other trees where folks put their medals on it, but not all Disney ones. That is very unique. I don't do the pins, bit I do have several disney ornaments on my tree. I guess I need to take some tree pictures!

And the runDisney Medal tree is impressive for sure. I need to run more runDisney events to have a tree like that.

I do love your Disney trees as well!

  10. Genius- what a clever way to display your runDisney pins! By next year, you may need multiple trees; maybe one for each park?!
