My 2013 in Numbers

I started 2013 with big plans to run a half marathon each month.  And just 3 months into the year, I shifted gears to focus on a new goal - running my first marathon in the fall as the precursor to the runDisney Dopey Challenge in January 2014.  I don't regret that I didn't try to hit a half each month.  I ended up running six over the course of the year and they were all different and fun.  I decided that I'm going to focus on quality races for 2014 rather than quantity.  I have my eye on a few big PRs and I'll talk about that more in another post.

So as I was thinking about my 2013, I started thinking about the numbers...number of races, distances, PRs and the like.  I did a little tallying and voila, my year of running!

What was the highlight of your running year?

  1. You had an awesome year, Christine! Great job!! I'm with you, quality is what I shoot for as well. The highlight of my year was receiving my Coast to Coast medal - I never thought I would actually receive it, so I was super excited when I did!

  5. 19 races is awesome! Way to mix it up with a variety of distances! We will get to run together in VA at some point!

  6. Wow! What an inspiration! I just started running this year. My first race was an 8K and was so exciting because it's the largest 8K in the world (Shamrock Shuffle).

    1. Aw thank you Carla - that is so nice of you to say. That is very cool! Some of the neatest races are the random local ones I think
