Princess weekend is coming soon!

Are you getting excited about the Princess Half Marathon weekend and the Glass Slipper Challenge?  I know I am!  One of the ways I like to get organized for the trip is to review all the race information on the runDisney page. My first stop will be the expo on Thursday afternoon.

12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 20
9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21
9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22
Location: ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

It was a mob scene last year at Coronado Springs, but hopefully better this year when the expo is back at ESPN.

Unless I lose control of my fingers I am registered for the Glass Slipper Challenge only! It is very tempting to sign up for the Royal Family 5k, and here is the link if you would like to join the fun! This was our first Disney 5k last year and we loved the experience.  We had so much fun Christine made a video recap that you can see here!

Next up is the inaugural Princess Enchanted 10k will start and finish at Epcot and will be the first leg of those trying to complete the Glass Slipper Challenge. Be sure to read the final race instructions carefully to know what is required to received that beautiful medal. We needed wrist bands to qualify for the Dopey Challenge medal.

The final race of the weekend is the Princess Half Marathon.  This will be the sixth year for this race and my fourth time to participate.  You can read some of our race reviews here and here. Since Princess 2011 was our first runDisney race and first big race, this one is very special to me.  I will miss my sidekick Christine but am excited that my sister is joining me for the race.  Hopefully I won't drive her nuts waking up too early on race morning!
Just after finishing 2013!
The pasta party has space and you can click here for registration information.

Race retreat has limited registration options here.  We loved this option for the Dopey Challenge and have details of what was included here. While this does add an extra fee on to your race day, it was a treat for us and we enjoyed it immensely.

  1. This will be my first 5K ever. I am not really a runner, so we will see how I do. I am so excited.
Has anyone seen a photo of the 5L medal. All I can find is the half and the others.

  7. I think you should let your fingers wonder and register for the 5K! You and your sister should buy tix for the Pasta in the Parks party. We are taking my mom this time since she's never experienced it!

    1. Because I have a race in March, I am sticking to the 2 races that weekend. It is so tempting, but I need to be smart!

  8. I'm really glad the expo has moved. I'm staying at Coronado this year (my first time, hope its nice) and would feel less than relaxed if I had to navigate through expo crowds at my resort every day!

    1. Alicia, because the convention center is separate from the resort, I think you would be okay. However the ESPN space is much better suited for the expo experience.

    1. Kristen, I have gotten an "I Did It" shirt at every Disney race. They are always so fun to wear to the parks with your medal the day after the race! Hope to see you in FL!
