Weekly Roundup - February 9th

It was a busy exercise week getting back into my regular running schedule of a tempo run, speedwork and long weekend run to finish off each week.  My thirteen mile run Sunday was my longest since the marathon in January and it felt hard!  However, each day seems to get better and my leg turnover seems to be improving!  We continue to see unusual winter weather here in North Carolina, but hopefully we will have spring will arrive soon. The rain and colder temperatures have made outside activities nearly non existent.

This week I cleaned out my desk and built in cabinets which happened to hold all my race bibs, certificates, booklets etc. Certificates for the Dopey Challenge were quickly printed to update the collection!

I also spent some time reorganizing my medals and putting the Dopey six on my medal rack.  My medal rack is now exclusively Disney which I suppose is appropriate with the name on the rack! I'm ordering an extra bar to go underneath this one so I can display the other medals from non Disney races.

I have a confession to make. I may have already started to pack for Princess Half Marathon weekend!  The suitcase is out and my race outfits are ready, clearly the most important things for this trip!

How was your week?  Have you started getting ready for Princess Half weekend yet?

  1. I'm getting ready to go do my last long run before PHM/GSC. My 10k costume is complete (and I love it!) and my half costume is almost done (still needs something....). Not packed at all though! We'll be driving, so I can just throw stuff in the car Wednesday night for our crack of dawn drive down to Orlando on Thursday morning. My three year old is beside himself, I think he might be more excited than I am! Hope to see you there!

    1. April, I can't wait to see your costumes. I am only dressing up for the 10k, and depending on the weather, I may wear that outfit for the half! I would love to be able to drive to the races....bringing everything you want is really nice. We have only driven twice to Florida for race weekends and both times I loved having the extra stuff!

  2. Sorry the weather has been sort of icky for you but at least you are already packing for Princess. I am always packed super early too and the costume is the most important part so you are ready to run--the big reason for going. Have a great week of training and I hope the weather warms up for you!

    1. Thanks Amanda, It has been strange weather this year for most everyone in the US. I am grateful that the snow is long gone and I have clean roads!

  3. Wow. That is an awesome collection of Disney medals!

    1. Thanks Abby. The Disney medals really are exceptional. My coach saw my Dopey medals and can't wait for race registration to open for 2015!

  4. That is a very nice Disney medal collection!! :0)
