Friday Five

I am so unbelievably happy it's Friday.  I don't know if it's a full moon or there's something in the water, but this week has been full of chaos and some stressful moments.  I also have been guilty of not focusing on getting enough sleep which is certainly exacerbating my general feelings of stress and fatigue.  I'm really looking forward to spending some time with friends this weekend and getting caught up around the house! Here are a few odds and ends from the week.
1. After finally trying my maple glazed pecan and sea salt Kind bar, I was hooked and needed more.  I did a little research and determined Amazon has the best prices on Kind bars so I ordered a box.  To avoid paying a shipping charge, I also added a box of Tropical Punch Cliff Shot Bloks.  These will be perfect fuel for upcoming races and training runs.

2. My sweet friend Megan sent me these darling bracelets.  I pair them with my Road ID when I run and they remind me of our #sub2orbust goal.  She's been an amazing virtual training partner and I'm so excited to cheer her on in her spring half marathon next month.

3. I ordered some mint green calf sleeves to match my new Lulu skirt.  I'm hopeful that the weather may be warm enough to debut my new spring running outfit at Shamrock!

4. I haven't used as much KT Tape during this training cycle as past cycles.  I think part of that is my heavy focus on strength training and I've been really diligent about stretching.  But I'm sharing the KT Tape magic with a colleague who's struggling with a knee injury.  I hope she likes it!

5. Can you believe that we had snow this week?!  Nutty!  And not only did it snow, but we've had frigid (for VA) temperatures most of the week.  The groundhog and I aren't exactly on good terms.  Luckily most of the snow has melted and we are expecting much warmer temperatures this weekend.

What's on your agenda for the weekend?

  2. I recently fell in love with KIND bars as well, but they're so expensive in the store that I only buy them as a treat. I'll definitely have to look into buying them on Amazon. Thanks for the tip!

    1. Yes, Kind bars are expensive but the ingredients are worth it. And getting them shipped to my home isn't bad either!

  4. TGIF indeed!! I feel like I've seriously neglected chores around the house so I definitely plan on getting caught up. If the weather holds up I may be out playing some ultimate frisbee, too!

Have a great weekend! Those Kind bars sound really yummy!

  10. Dude, I've been cursing the groundhog all week. It's been 32 here and freezing raining for the past 24 hours. I moved south because I hated the weather at home. Not cool at all in my book.

  11. I've just started running and signed up for a Run Disney event... How did you find a virtual training partner?

Thanks for the blog. I love reading it.

    1. Hi Ellen, Thanks for stopping by. I am not really sure how you find a virtual training partner, but perhaps you have a friend that runs that lives in another state? Sorry I don't have a really great answer, but you might find a virtual training partner through some of the Disney running Facebook pages as well. Good luck and feel free to ask us questions on our Facebook page as well. -Pam

  12. It was a crazy week here too. Work insanity. Sick 3 year old. PMS! runDisney and blogging burnout. I got some good sleep last night and feel 100% better today. I hope your week turns around too! Tomorrow is a long run for me, the last one before the Gate River Run 15k next weekend, so I'm hoping for a fast and fun run!

  13. Mmm tropical punch clif blocs. I think those count as candy so I'm not allowed to eat them until after Easter.

I'm super pumped about my Saturday. The Philadelphia Flower show is going on and I'm going to Boot Camp & Yoga in the garden at the show with Be Well philly. And hoping to both enjoy the weather and get my apartment organized. By Friday it's always a disaster.
