Weekly Roundup - March 23rd

It probably won't come as a surprise to you that this week was a recovery week for both of us.  I know that after I chase a big race goal, I let my body chill out a bit.  I workout based on how I feel.  One strange realization that I had this week was that it was challenging to figure out my workout each day.  After being on a pretty regimented training schedule for the last 2 months, I found myself feeling a little helpless.  But fear not, I figured something out!  The other realization I had was that I am grateful I'm not racing this weekend.  After a physically and mentally draining race last weekend, I'm glad I didn't have to try to get my body and mind 'up' for another race.  Instead, I've been enjoying the nice weather (well, sadly it's gone now!) and the company of friends.
Paddy played in the yard on Saturday afternoon while I did yard work
and then lunched on the deck
And then we both got new toys!

  1. Hi! This may be the first time commenting on your blog, here. I think. I was scrolling through my bloglovin' feed and saw a picture of your dog and had to stop over. Is that a breaded collie? I have a breaded collie mix. He has tons of energy! And I love your purple Garmin! Great color choice! Have a great rest of the weekend!!

  2. I had grand plans of getting a ton of stuff down this weekend, but yesterday was too nice, so I went shopping on Walnut Street.

Today, I'll be doing 9 miles, laundry and food prep. As well as some work, and packing for an overnight work trip to Baltimore. Just in time for cold. Boo!

  4. Very nice recovery week! Paddy looks so cute in that pic :0)

Could you do a review on your new GPS watch sometime? I've had my eye on that new Garmin since it came out, but haven't bit the bullet to purchase yet. I'm definitely curious on your thoughts!

  5. Nice week, glad you give yourselves some recovery time. I got to mow the yard for the first time this year and got a 3.1 mile in a new pair of shoes done yesterday. Today we had lots of family time and my workout somehow didn't get done. Maybe tonight!
