Rock n Roll Dublin: Race Info

As Rock 'n' Bloggers, we have each been provided with a free race entry into the Rock 'n' Roll Dublin Half Marathon.  We are encouraged to support the race through social media and our blog, but are not required to do so nor are we compensated for this post.  All opinions are our own.

Rock 'n Roll Dublin is changing the course this year and we wanted to share the new course with you. The reason for the change is twofold, with the new tram network construction and traffic. You can view the new course online here!   The Rock 'n Roll group has spent hours working with the Garda (police force), Dublin City council and the Office of Public Works  to create a fantastic race course that gives runners a glimpse at many of the highlights of Dublin. This year's course is a point to point course that will start in one location and finish in another. Shuttles will be provided back to the city center at the race conclusion and there will be a bag check service as well. Highlights of the course include several new places including the Ha'Penny Bridge and the Royal Hospital. Old favorites include the Christ Church Cathedral, the Guinness Factory and Kilmainham Gaol.

Guinness Factory circa 2005: we won't visit here mid race, but perhaps afterwards!
Kilmainham Gaol  - very popular during the potato famine

Just like the other Rock 'n Roll races this one will have bands at every mile to help us and all the runners get to the finish line. The beautiful Phoenix Park will be the location for the fabulous finish party. There are are fewer time and space constrictions at this location so the party will be rocking for much longer. Yay for after race parties!

    1. Kristen, It is so much fun doing an international race. Lat spring I was lucky to run a 5k for charity in London....we even dressed in super hero costumes!

  6. Sounds so much fun! I visited Dublin back in High School. Loved to go back to experience it as an adult. A great way to see the city! An International race is definitely on my bucket list!

  7. Sounds like fun! I'm going to miss this one, but I'm planning to run Rock n Roll Savannah this Fall...my first RnR race!

I'm running up there rather than the Wine n Dine this year, but that's okay...I'm expanding beyond the runDisney races this year (but I should be back for marathon weekend in January).
