Hallelujah runDisney announces Disneyland PARIS race!!!!

At long last runDisney has answered our prayers - a half marathon in Disneyland Paris!  I practically squealed and jumped up and down when they announced the news, my francophile heart beating at record pace!  And now for the details...September 23-26 2016 Woohoo!

We are certainly adding this race to our calendars and will be eagerly awaiting the day that we can combine Paris, Disney and running into an amazing trifecta!

So what are your thoughts?

  1. That's exciting news! I've never been to Disneyland Paris but my parents have and this would be a great reason for a trip abroad! :)

    1. It is a perfect reason for a trip abroad and Paris is one of our favorite cities in Europe!

  3. Love Paris, but to be honest, if I'm going there, I'd rather spend my valuable and limited travel time immersed in Paris's unique culture and art offerings. Disney Paris wouldn't even be a consideration.

    1. I totally understand Jennifer. Having lived in Europe for 5 years, I was lucky to have several opportunities to visit the city of lights. The race is high on our list and has been for some time!

  4. First of all, I think the timing of this announcement was really weird...for what is a pretty big announcement they sort of just slid it in and didn't make a big deal out of it...very un-Disney like.

As much as I'd like to do this race one day the September date wont work for me while I'm in school for the next few years and I think if I'm ever going to go to Europe for a race I'd rather do one of a bigger, established full marathons.

Looking forward to following along with anyone who does go though!

    1. We also thought the timing of the announcement was really weird. The timing will not work with anyone that is either in school or works in the school system. Hopefully both of us will be running the race.

  5. The date is very difficult for anybody like myself who has to follow a school calendar for their job. With this race weekend being less than 3 weeks into our school year, its impossible for me to take off for an extended period of time. While I'm excited to follow along with those who do choose to register for this race, I'm also hoping this might deter some people from other races and leave more spots for those people like myself who can't make an international trip a reality in late September.

    1. I realized with the timing that it would be difficult if not impossible to participate in this race if you are a teacher/employed by the school system. We of course are thrilled and it will be interesting to see how many runners from the US decide to make the trip.

  8. It sounds exciting, but I think if I was going to run in Paris, I would want to do the Paris Marathon. Who knows, maybe I'll do it one day!

    1. I understand Jamie. If I was not trying to run the marathon majors before my next milestone birthday, I would probably not be so excited about this race.

  9. Very interesting. I wonder if it will feel like the typical Disney race.

    1. I bet it will be a different feel. We visited the DL Paris park many years ago and it was alot different than the Florida park.
