Weekly Roundup: May 3rd

This week dragged by for me with a mandatory "no running" from my coach until Sunday.  I always need the recovery time after a marathon, but the last three or four days waiting to run can be difficult.  I did go to the gym, but those workouts don't compare to running in the neighborhood and going to track practice.

My week did consist of alot of hydrating with a new bottle and koozie from the Boston Marathon expo!

On Tuesday my fingers totally lost control and I registered for the Mickey Marathon  held in January 2106.  My coach was not impressed.

Appropriate mug while registered for the Mickey Marathon!

This week I also spent time gathering my paperwork and rewards cards for our upcoming trip to Disneyland.  I can't believe we leave on Friday!  Can't wait to spend Mother's Day weekend with Christine!

Nearly two weeks out from running the Boston Marathon I finally got to run again!  My group met for six easy miles at the beach and the day is absolutely glorious outside.  I could not wait to run again and see all m running pals.
How was your week?  Anything special happen?

  1. I also lost control of my fingers on Tuesday. I'm running a Disney race for the first time since 2012. But, this time it will be the marathon. Enjoy that first post-marathon run!

  2. As I said earlier, I am so glad you have Slippery fingers...lol We are just starting to get the last minute pieces around for our Tinkerbell trip. We have been SO relaxed about this particular race-cation compared to others and I really don't know why. We are flying all the way across the country, you'd think we would have been more prepared earlier...lol We hope to see you ther and catch up! we are staying at the Disneyland hotel. Where will you be?

  3. Ah, now I really wish I was doing the WDW marathon in 2016! Then I'd get to meet you! I just don't think I can do it. But I'm fairly sure I'll be putting it on my calendar for 2017.

  4. When are you arriving on Friday? I'm hoping to go meet Jac from the now removed Challenged Running in the Bike Lane on Friday afternoon. That may get moved to Saturday if things change work-wise for me. Then CA Adventure on Sunday. It would be fun to meet in person if we can swing it.

  6. The unknown force that drives us insane. "Normal" people think race day is exciting. They should try to register once or twice. I signed up for Goofy and still have butterflies in my stomach. Maybe I'll get a chance to meet you in person! : )

  7. I hope you guys have a great trip this weekend and great races! My relatives live near Disneyland and they've said the weather has been pretty good this year, so you should luck out there:)
You have such an impressive race calendar this year. You're going to love NYC Marathon, that one will always be in my top 5, it is a truly wonderful race, but yes crowded so times can suffer a little if you aren't in a good corral or wave. Either way, it's a great experience, you'll love it!!!
