Christine and I have enjoyed several marathon weekends, starting with my first running the now retired Chip and Dale Relay in 2012. We have also done the half marathon, Goofy Challenge and in 2014, the Dopey Challenge. The races are fun but the morning wake up calls mean early bedtimes. These are a must if you hope to have a successful time on the clock when you cross the finish line. With three prior years of this race weekend, I feel funny to "only" be running the marathon. Who says only when running a marathon? Well at Disney it can be "only" because the marathon can also be part of the Goofy Challenge and the Dopey Challenge when you run multiple races on consecutive days.
After completing the Dopey Challenge in 2014, Christine and I each took turns writing reviews for those who might be taking on the challenge in the future. So if you would like to read about those races, you will find links below.
Disney Family Run 5k
This race ended up being very crowded, but it is always a fun one for costumes since you are running such a short distance. Click here for all the details.
Minnie Mouse 10k
The Minnie Mouse 10k starts and ends in Epcot and includes some nice character stops along the way after leaving the Epcot parking area. For more info click here for our race recap.

The half marathon course is the same one used for the Princess Half Marathon and one that we find interesting and fun. During our Dopey Challenge weekend in 2014, we planned to run this race for fun, knowing that we had many miles ahead of us the following day. We planned to just ran easy with the goal of getting off our feet as quickly as possible leaving plenty of energy for the marathon on Sunday. You can read our recap from the 2014 race here.
The final race Sunday is the marathon and any marathon that includes running through 4 amusement parks is always fun. The behind the scenes look at the parks is also a part of certain areas you pass and also a way to keep you entertained. My favorite part of the course is Hollywood Studios when you are nearly finished and the crowd is cheering loudly. Read about our 2014 race here - Christine's recap and mine.
