Weekly Workout Roundup: Mar 7th

Wanna hear something funny? When I was little, I loved playing hair dresser with my Mom. I have a feeling that I enjoyed this game way more than she did. Usually it ended with Mom having at least a dozen ponytails and one that inevitably looked like a unicorn horn. Over the weekend, Adam took a turn with putting Paddy's hair into a ponytail. A few minutes later I came back into the den and she had a trio of ponytails...it made me laugh and reminded me of my fun times playing hairdresser with Mom.
Paddy's not sure about her new hairdo

Anyway, this post is not about strange hairdos with multiple ponytails. It is about our week so I'll get on with it! Voting, a mid-week two mile run, and finding my long lost Fitbit were the highlights of my week. Regarding my Fitbit, it has been missing since Christmas time-ish. I looked EVERYWHERE in our house for it but could never locate it. I assumed it ended up in the trash somehow, so imagine my surprise when I found it behind one of our guest beds this week. I was so excited and happy that it charged up without any issues.

My knee flared up a bit this week after running on Tuesday and Wednesday and my PT and I agreed we would back off a bit. This week, we'll try one minute running intervals. Hopefully that will be a reasonable increase and won't aggravate my knee! Thanks to Holly at HoHo Runs and Tricia at MissippiPiddlin for hosting the weekly wrap!

  1. Yay for finding your Fitbit! I know how annoying that can be to tear apart the house looking for it. I hope your knee settles back down. Paddy is so cute and a really good sport!

  2. Don't you just hate when things go missing without any explanation? So glad you found it though. I bet it was like Christmas all over again. We only ever had labradors and they never had enough hair to do anything with. We over compensate by dressing them up though...lol. -M

    1. It really was like Christmas! I couldn't justify buying a new one since I had recently replaced it so this was a good discovery.

    1. It really does! I rarely lose things like that too...every once in a while I would remember it and dig around the house again.

  4. I love Paddy's ponytails; or should I say, "Doggytails!" And yay, for finding your lost Fitbit! Do you think you knocked it off when changing the sheets on that bed?

    1. Doggytails! I love it! :) I have a feeling I somehow knocked the band when I was making the bed and it fell off. Glad I have it back now ;)

  5. I used to style my Barbies and they all ended up bald, so no, I don't mess with anyone's hair! LOL

Glad to see both of you having a great week of training!

    1. Haha! After my excessive ponytails, I probably shouldn't do hair either! ;)

  6. Yay for finding the fitbit! I've definitely lost things before and have them show up in very random locations months later. I'm convinced the cats are somehow behind it. And Paddy looks so cute in the new hairdo :)

  7. Haven't tried styling my dogs (short) hair, but I love finding things I've lost. I'm looking forward to warmer weather this week. Minus some rain, the next 10 days are supposed to be over 60 in Columbus! Have a great week. :)

    1. We are expecting 60s-70s here and I am psyched! Makes walking the dog so much more enjoyable. I'm happy we're actually getting a spring too...the past few years we seem to have jumped straight from winter to summer.

  8. Aww how cute! I don't think we ever styled our dogs' hair... probably since they either had too short of hair wouldn't let us near them with a brush, lol. Leave that to the pros! Looking forward to taking my workouts outside this week since we are forecasted to have some beautiful days ahead!

    1. Our shaggy dog gets lots of brushing...she doesn't love it but usually tolerates it. And yes, yay for great weather on the horizon!!

  9. You know, I never even thought about putting Lola's hair in a ponytail. It's not long on her head (except her ear fringe), although it does get longer on the back of her head . . . I suppose I could give her a mohawk but I don't think she'd be very happy with me.

Good luck with that knee! Why won't our joints cooperate with us?

    1. Paddy is so shaggy that I can't tell if she can see half the time. Ugh, I know...stupid knee! I don't even care if I can run fast, I just want it to settle down a bit.

  11. LOL too funny about the ponytail on the dog!
One of my favorite things was others playing with my hair (mostly I just love other people combing my hair, its so relaxing) as I grew up, not that I am older I am trying to figure out how to teach my nieces that (gently) combing my hair is so fun. LOL They aren't picking up on it too much.
Yay for finding your fitbit! They are so much fun to use!!!

  12. Shoot! My dogs have short hair! How lucky that you found your Fitbit Christine! I'm impressed it charged up easily too. I just want to say I think you have been so patient. I know it's hard, especially right now since you've been able to run some. Pam, good luck in your half marathon. It's coming up soon, right? Thanks for linking with us.

  14. Yay for finding the FitBit and some great workouts from both of you. Speaking of it, my VivoActive has been telling me I'm lazy because I take so many steps normally, that it keeps going off now that I've been sick and couldn't run. I had to take it off completely for a few days and it's weird to not wear a watch.

I've never had a dog but I'm really weird about people doing my hair. I don't even like to get it styled at a hairdresser... I guess I'm just really tender-headed.

  20. Ok I have a funny too! This reminded me when I was little we had a poodle named JR. A boy yes, but I would dress him up in dresses and ride him around in my baby stroller. He was very patient and let me do about anything to him. I even put a diaper on him and well he pooped in it. I was grossed out and never did that again! lol It's fun to be reminded of our childhood isn't it? Thanks for linking up with us.
