It's been really nice to hit the roads again. I forgot what it feels like to have some time to sort through my thoughts and quiet my mind. I truly missed that aspect of running. And now that I'm back at work, it's nice to have some time and space to quietly process my day. So what has been rattling around in my running brain, you ask? Well so glad you asked...read on!
Why does the first mile or two always suck so much?
Maybe I should do a warmup before my 10k so my legs are ready.
Eh maybe no warmup. Who am I kidding? I won't be prepared to run more miles than a 10k!
Wow, that house has beautiful flower beds. Maybe I should go get some flowers for our front beds.
Ugh, the satan dogs are out. *runs down middle of road to avoid said dogs*
I wonder if I should set a time goal for my next race. I would love to see 8s on my watch but I know that's probably a bit too ambitious.
What am I making for dinner tonight? ...........oh right! That pineapple quinoa chicken salad thingie. I hope I have all the ingredients.
Man it's hot! I miss winter running already.
Dang, my pace is pretty strong today.
I kinda wish I was running a marathon later this year. Wait, did I just think that?
Maybe I should consider a half instead. Maybe one that's flat so I could chase a sub-1:50. Gah, I'm dying to run another half PR.
Hmm maybe I don't want to work that hard this summer. It might be nice to crash at the beach on weekends rather than training my butt off.
Yeehaw I feel great! Oh wait, I'm almost done with my miles today...
