Pam and Christine are a mother and daughter who love to see new places on two feet. We started running in the fall of 2010 to prepare for the 2011 Disney Princess Half Marathon. At the time, we planned for that to be our first and last half marathon. With multiple half marathons and marathons under our belts, I guess you can say we caught the running bug! Since then, we have run Disney, Dublin, Boston, Napa, London, and beyond!

About Pam
I am a 61 year old runner who was talked into running by my daughter Christine when she formed a list of thirty things to complete prior to her 30th birthday.   If you asked me a few years ago if I ever wanted to run a race, the answer would have been a large, resounding "N-O!"  Running always seemed like torture, but slowly I learned to love it. I joined a local running group where I have made fantastic friends and work with a coach. My biggest goal now is to run all the marathon majors before my 65th birthday and in 2015, I started my quest by completing the Boston Marathon and the New York City Marathon.

When I'm not running, you can find me spending time with my husband, Tom, and little Yorkshire terrier, Lulu, at our home in Wilmington, NC. We discovered a love of travel while living in England and have planned lots of adventures as empty nesters.  We love to play golf and tennis, but running is my favorite sport because of the prizes!

About Christine
I'm a 34 year old wife, dog mama, and runner girl.  I'm a lover of good chocolate cake, bunnies, hot pink gerbera daisies, lattes, all things domestic, chunky gold jewelry, and all things preppy. I'm obsessed with Paris, my alma mater (Bucknell University), hosting the perfect party, brightly colored leather bags, and anything with a bow.

I set out to run a half marathon as part of a list of 30 goals before my 30th birthday. In the process, I recruited my Mom and Aunt to run this race with me. I guess you can say the rest is history! I was a swimmer in high school and college and relish the competition and athletic intensity that training for a goal race provides.

I live in Southeastern Virginia with my husband, Adam (who sometimes makes an appearance here) and our Old English Sheepdog, Paddy. I spent 10 years in the corporate world developing my expertise in organizational strategy and recently left to pursue other dreams, including a manageable work-life balance!

  1. How great it is to experience a race/run together as mother-daughter. My mom who is in her mid-60s is training for a 5K. The first time we ran a race together was when she came to visit me in CA - she ran a 5K and I ran a 10K. I will let her know about this blog!

    1. That's so great! We love hearing about other mother-daughter running duos. :)

  2. Wow! Glad to hear your goal! It is certain that you are a good runner. Wishing you will get the better achievements in the future. ^^
